Lesson 1?

Past Perfect

For example:
I went for a walk when I had finished my work.

Poszedłem na spacer kiedy skończyłem swoją pracę.(czyli najpierw skończyłem pracę - potem poszedłem na spacer).

Pytania tworzymy w standardowy sposób - zamieniamy podmiot z operatorem:
*Had he finished his work before all the lights went out? - Czy on skończył pracę zanim zgasły wszystkie światla?
*Had she already watched the movie before he arrived home? - Czy ona obejrzała ten film zanim on dotarł do domu?
*Had they learnt about the accident before the police called them?

Przeczenie uzyskujemy wstawiając 'not':
*She hadn't thought about baking a cake so we had to buy some biscuits. - Ona nie pomyślała o upieczeniu ciasta więc musieliśmy kupić jakieś herbatniki.
*He hadn't ridden a horse before so his first steps in the saddle were painful.
*The castle hadn't been inhabited for a long time so when the court arrived they had to sleep on the floor in the main hall.

*By the time we reached the cinema, the film had already started.

*I lost my wallet. - Zgubiłem portfel (kiedyś).

Zdarzenie miało miejsce w przeszłości dokładnie określonej, choćby w domyśle.
*He won the competition in 2000.

*My grandmother read this book twice. - Moja babcia przeczytała tę książkę dwa razy.
*Napoleon was imprisoned twice.

*When I was young I broke my leg.

*Newton discovered the law of gravity. - Newton odkrył prawo ciążenia.

-Past Perfect

I did it with Karolina(on our lesson.. ENGLISH lesson)! ;D

Learning languages?

Johann Ludwig Heinrich Julius Schliemann was born on 6th of January in 1822 in Neubukow, Germany and died on 26th of December in Naples, Italy. He was a treasure hunter, an advocate of the historical reality of places mentioned in the works of Homer, and an important excavator of Troy and of the Mycenean sites Mycenae and Tiryns. Heinrich could also speak in many languages like English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Latin, Greek, Old-Greek, Polish, Arabian. He thought that to speak and know language well, we have to speak laudly in this foreign language. That's why he had to move many times - his neighbours were very nervous and upset. Sometimes he asked someone to listen to him - if this person did not undestant anything, it was no problem for Heinrich. I think that this method for learning for example English is really useful. It's easier to ermember things if you speak. You practise grammar and talking so in other country You will have no problem in talking with people. I've learnt English for about 8 years. I love talking in this language. I try to write, talk and ..hmm.. sing English songs ;D I think languages are one of the most important things in our lives and they are really interesting :)

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was afraid of eggs?!

Alfred Hitchcock, famouse film-maker. He made a lot of horrors, films.. but in fact he was afraid of.. eggs! Who was he at all? Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (August 13, 1899 - April 29, 1980) was an iconic and highly influential British film director and producer. He directed more than 50 features films (from the silent film era, through the invnsion of talkies, to the colour era).
He was proud of his skill to make people feel scared. In France one custom offical
saw in his passport that Alfred's a producer and he asked: Whad do you produce? Hitchcock replied: Fear...
Books say that Hitchcock appeared in his own films for example like a customer, person in the street.. Maybe he wanted people to remember him? Or just to feel like an actor? [It doesn't say in any of sources which i read].
I've read that Alfred made his films in the USA - they were a great success. Actually he went there to did something special and he did it perfectly! Alfred did not feel as good as earlier. He started to make a new film.. after that he died when he was sleeping. Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was called "Master of Suspense" because nobody as good as him could build tension full of silence and so on which brings to an end of people's calmness.
I think that Alfred Hitchcock was one of the main people in history of
cinema, films and fear. He probably inspired a lot of new directors and producers.

Death.. Wow ;D Amazing...

There are many Parks in the World.. But I would like to write about one..
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
It's the park in California. It was built in 1994. Death Valley was first like a monument of nature and then on 31st of October 1994 it became National Park. In this park you can see many wild animals. You can also find there Racetrack Playa, Scotty's Castle and so on.. Actually..well.. I wanted to write about this place becauce I really like the name.:p It's so scary.. Death Valley.. I did not notice any park in Poland with some similar names. Unfortunatly because it's really fantastic and controversial name for park ;D It's important to have national parks. In parks like Death Valley animals can live normally and naturally.

You're beautiful...? xD

Lakes, forests, mountains... It's beautiful, isn't it? But what about wars, poverty, hunger? It's really inherent in our World. It became very popular to write poems about our world.. But for normal people.. for us..there are many other things.. Maybe normal? Maybe amazing? But for me (for example) something special. The best in the World might be.. just smile. Just to see someone happy; to meet friends, talk on GG.. So normal? Yeah.. ;D But it can make You feel better.. Feel.. like you don't care if it's rainy, if the weather is bad. For many people small things can change your mood. World is beautiful. That's for sure. I am reall happy that i can be here. I can see trees, grass, people.. I am happy that i can live.

Elvis Presley..What a beautiful boy ;D

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on 8th of January 1935 in Tupelo and died on 16th of August in Memphis..well not for everybody. He was 'The King of Rock'n'Roll' and one of the main person in 20th century. He started to sing in 1954. The most popular songs were "That's All Right Mama", "Heartbreake Hotel" and for example "Love Me Tender". In 1956 Presley became "The King of Rock'n'Roll" for many people. He played many concerts. Teenagers, kids and adults loved him and his music. His biography is really interesting and amazing but there are another questions. What about his death? Some people believe that Elvis is still alive. But Elvis was addicted with some medicines. He died because of his heart. His fans loved him too much and did not want to believe that Elvis is dead so they created a legend. I think that Presley's fate was inherent in his nature. It was really a part of his message. Maybe he's still alive? He was so good at singing, he tried to make people think about him better but in the end of his life he became 'nobody'. He started to be like a normal human. Started to have problems, do normal things. Maybe he had to show America something? But in fact after 'his death' people loved him even more and more. Now it's really interesting. Elvis Aaron Presley? Yeah.. He was..no! He's really The King of Rock'n'Roll.. He was rich, famous and handsome :)

Atlantis-extreme place? :)

Atlantis is the name of a legendary island first mentioned in Plato's dialogues Timaeus
and Critias. It was destroyed by earthquakes and sank in the sea.
There are many posibilities where Atlantis could be bestead, for example Atlantis
Islands - Wniebowstąpienia and Św. Heleny, in area of Spitsbergen and so on.
Sometimes people compare Atlantis to Antarctica so the climat there might be similar. I
mean.. It could be cold, snowy and rainy. I think that there weren't any trees and
plants->the climat was very extreme. I think that You could find there some lakes, rivers and hills but not many. I cannot give You any actual informations because nobody's sure that Atlantis existed.
Gary Trousdale made a fantasy film called "Atlantis. The Lost Empire". It says that some people lived there. They had their own language and traditions. I've seen this
film and it inspired me to write here about this amazing and mysterious place. I would
love to see and check if Atlantis was real...

My holiday

Oh yeah. That's right. Today's 6th of September and it means that in Poland we started to go to school-again. But let me think about my holidays...
There were 'quiet'. I mean... I did not go to any foreign country-i stayed (mostly) at home. But it would be boring, isn't it? So I took my mom, my dad and Natalia and we went by bus to Półczno. It's a village. My aunt has a small house there. I read books. Michał[well Michael]and my sister put up a tent. We wanted to sleep there but it was too scary and in the middle of the night we started to shout and run to the house. My mother was on a holiday with us so after Półczno we went to another village-Jastrzębie. We rode by bikes and so on. I met with friends and had a good time with them:)
I hope that next holidays will be as nice as this one and maybe.. better? :D
